One of my favorite Gamecocks of all time appears to be headed back to the active roster of an NFL team. With yet more injuries to RBs, Denver Broncos Head Coach Mike Shannahan has announced that the team will resign RB Cory Boyd and Alex Haynes to the active roster. The move was needed after Selvin Young and PJ Pope became the sixth and seventh Denver RBs to hit the IR. That has got to be some kind of record.
But Boyd is a favorite. Lou Holtz once said Cory came from the worst circumstances he had ever seen. The kid had a few slip-ups at Carolina, but he also played his ass off. He was tough as nails and never quit. And he gave us this memorable clip:

Ummmm, I can imagine what Cory's Wunderlich was based on his comments here.. No wonder he didn't get drafted - it's on TV , for Pete's sake!
