He filed today to run as a Democrat for the seat formerly held for many years by Sen. John Land.
Kent is an incredibly sharp lawyer who would breathe new life and exuberance in to a seat that could desperately use a fresh perspective. The race for Land's seat just got awfully interesting...

There couldn't be a better choice than Kent! He puts 110% into everything he does and if he is determined to represent the people of this District, they would be mighty lucky to have him!
I have known Mr. Kent for at least 25 years. Even as a teen, he was never afraid to stand up for what he believed and would refuse to back down. He is a man with strong ethics and would serve South Carolina proudly. South Carolinians could not do better than Shaun Kent as a senator representing them! ~Karen Barrett Griffin
