In a stunning upset, news broke today that former VP Al Gore and his wife Tipper are splitting up after 40 years of marriage. Somewhere some lucky Clinton-Gore staffer who took the long odds on the in-house break-up pool is holding a big winner. Seriously, raise your hands if you would have been willing to lay a bet that Bill & Hillary would outlast Al & Tipper. Anyone? Bueller?At least the Gores made it through raising a family together and we can all hope the conciliatory nature of their joint e-mail to family and friends predicts their ability to get along in the future for their own and their family's sake.
