The White Stripes: Under Great Northern Lights

The White Stripes documentary Under Great Northern Lights is set to come out on dvd March 16. Some select AMC theaters are showing it (good luck finding one around here). But the trailer looks pretty sweet.

We'd be remiss if we did not include a photo of drumming goddess Meg White. Hummahnah, hummahnah...

In honor, here's some of our fav White Stripes performances:

Hate to say this but Meg White is probably the worst drummer in the history of rock and roll. Jack White is a genius who has turned the genre on it's head, but Meg? Ugh. I saw the Raconteurs and the Dead Weather last year, the latter with Jack on drums. Dead Weather ranks as one of the best concerts I've ever seen, and I've seen hundreds of them.

Jack is ten times the drummer that Meg is. No, make that a hundred times better. Hell, the drummer in my band is a hundred times better than Meg. I can't even listen to White Stripes because she's so bad. I never understood why he wanted to be saddled down with such a talent void like Meg. I guess Lennon had his Yoko. He's just so great that most casual observers don't notice how bad Meg really is.

Nice rack though...

I can honestly say I have never paid attention to her playing. I've been more concerned with her "kit." And it's maginificent.
