No more long distance dedications for Kasem

After a week that blasted us off our feet last week, we start off this one with yet another gut-shot: Casey Kasem has called it quits. That's right, the man that riveted us with those heartfelt long-distance competitions and advised to keep our feet on the ground, but to keep reaching for the stars has done his final Weekly Top 40 Countdown.

He's been at it for 39 years. I suppose that is enough for anyone. But the man's voice was pure velvet, folks. Ryan Seacrest cannot move me to tears the say Casey could while explaining that Susie from Oklahoma's dad, who just died in a freak ultralight accident, wanted Casey to play their song: Si-Mix-A-Lot's "Buttermilk Biscuts."

So here it is, Susie...you're long-distance dedication.

That's all nice and well, but answer the really big question.... Will he still be the voice of Shaggy on Scooby Doo??
